Carlos Avrard
I work with Community enCompass, a Christian Community Development Organization located in Muskegon, MI. We work with a growing number of individuals, congregations, businesses, and nonprofit community & civic organizations to improve specific neighborhoods in the Greater City of Muskegon area and the region of West Michigan to become agents of community transformation.
Using Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) concepts and practices, we believe it is critical to asses and identify the gifts, skills and resources of all the citizens in the neighborhoods and invite their participation in community transformation ministries and activities. We work to increase the communities' participation and ownership in community life and systems by identifying needs and opportunities to make life more just, fair and productive for all neighbors.
